After a string of one-offs on shows such as Police Story, Magnum, P.I. and Walker, Texas Ranger, Forster landed the plum role of bail bondsman Max Cherry in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, for which he earned an Oscar nod for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
Sadly, his death comes on the very day that El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie premiered on Netflix, where he reprised his role as Ed, a vacuum salesman with deep connections to the criminal underground. Check out a few social media dedications to Robert Forster below.
In an interview with Fandor a year ago, Forster recalled that when presented with the script for "Jackie Brown", he told Tarantino, "I'm sure they're not going to let you hire me".
Robert Forster was born in Rochester, New York on July 13, 1941.
