Given that it's been almost 20 years since Patrick Stewart last played the role of Jean-Luc Picard (in Star Trek: Nemesis), the anticipation for Star Trek: Picard has been out of this world, and the trailer is doing everything possible to stoke that feeling up to a fever pitch.
Speaking of Short Treks, a new trailer gave us a sneak peak of ones to come, all of which seem to revolve around the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise under command of Captain Pike.
The big reveal came on Saturday afternoon in a new trailer for the upcoming Picard, that also shed more light on what the former Enterprise leader has been up to for the past nearly two decades. Jeri Ryan and Brent Spiner were in that trailer, and will reprise their roles in the series. Data was created some time in the 2330s.
Kurtzman also revealed that Short Treks, the 15-minute long mini-episodes that flesh out secondary characters and stories, will also be returning for a six-episode run.
Kurtzman also hinted that Stewart, who is an executive producer on Picard, shared insight on what their creative conversations surrounding the series have been.
