He had been in hospital for the last month receiving treatment for pneumonia when it transpired that he was also suffering from cancer.
Another person added: "Brendan Grace RIP, a lovely person, unrivalled comedian, superb singer and guitarist, our careers intertwined over the years, our sincerest condolences to Eileen and family, RIP Brendan".
Brendan owned the Brendan Grace Pub which was located on Main Street for several years, before closing for business in 2011.
