A loud altercation between Boris Johnson and his partner Carrie Symonds recorded by a neighbor prompted a visit by Scotland Yard on Friday, hitting his current campaign to be the next United Kingdom prime minister to replace Theresa May.
Writing in today's UK Times newspaper Jeremy Hunt, Boris Johnsons challenger for the Tory party leadership, says Mr Johnson needs to stop avoiding public scrutiny in the race for Downing Street.
Foreign Secretary and leadership rival Jeremy Hunt took a swipe at his competitor saying somebody who wanted to be Prime Minister "should answer questions on everything".
"Stuff happens at home all the time... someone spills the wine, we can't really be making headlines out of that", supporter Hasnain Ahmed, 23, told AFP.
Johnson also came under scrutiny on Sunday for his relationship with Steve Bannon, the controversial former adviser to US President Donald Trump.
Mr Farage has weighed into the issue of police being called to the home of Boris Johnson's girlfriend on Friday morning.
"It's always easier to just give an explanation, " Fox told the BBC's "Andrew Marr Show".
"I think someone who wants to be prime minister should answer questions on everything", he said.
Hunt had agreed to take part in Tuesday's debate and urged Johnson to join him.

The Guardian reported that the police were called after Johnson's neighbours heard a loud altercation involving screaming and shouting, including a woman screaming followed by "slamming and banging".
The EU has repeatedly said it will not renegotiate the withdrawal deal.
Despite a series of scandals in the past and criticism about his attention to detail, Brexit supporter Johnson has dominated the race to replace Prime Minister Theresa May.
"Police attended and spoke to all occupants of the address, who were all safe and well".
Both Johnson and Hunt have vowed to extract better terms from Brussels - or walk away without any strings attached, but European leaders appear unmoved.
Johnson split from his second wife, Marina Wheeler, last year, and is known for his complicated love life. Among Conservative voters, Johnson's lead fell from 55% to 45%, while Hunt's standing rose from 28% to 34%, the polls conducted by Survation showed.
A neighbour of Johnson told the Guardian newspaper that they had recorded the altercation from inside their flat out of concern for Symonds.
Whoever takes the Tory party leadership in the week beginning July 22 - and therefore becomes prime minister - will then face the looming Brexit deadline of October 31.
Tom Penn said the allegations were "bizarre and fictitious", explaining in a statement to the paper that he dialled 999 after hearing shouting coming from his neighbour's flat.
"I'm sorry, you don't have that sort of private life if you're asking people to choose you to be their prime minister", Sir Malcolm said. "That is the extent of my involvement in politics".При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
