White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders is leaving the Trump administration, the president announced Thursday. President Donald Trump announced via Twitter today that the woman who took over the podium from Sean Spicer in July 2017 will leave the administration at month's end.
"The president praised Sanders for her service at the White House".
"She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job!"
She said she was drawn to Trump's message of economic populism and his outsider attitude. "I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas - she would be fantastic", he wrote in a second tweet.
"The media continues to ratchet up the verbal assault against the President and everyone in this administration", she said.

Sanders is one of President Trump's closest and most trusted White House aides and one of the few remaining on staff who worked on his campaign.
