Congress President Rahul Gandhi said here on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi won the Lok Sabha elections by telling lies. "Congress stood for truth, love and affection", Mr Gandhi said addressing the crowd at Kalpetta.
"We're committed to defending space of opposition, defending weak people in this country, defending people who are under attack by Mr Modi's policies and Mr Modi himself", he said.
Retired nurse Rajamma Rajappan is a voter in Wayanad, from where he Mr Gandhi won the national election.
Before leaving for Kerala, Rahul tweeted, "I will be in Wayanad, Kerala, starting this afternoon and till Sunday to meet citizens and Congress party workers".
Since Friday, Rahul Gandhi has been holding several roadshows in Wayanad. "He might have rich friends with him but the Congress party will continue to fight against the intolerance created by the BJP", Gandhi said". The Congress president is on a three-day visit to the constituency. He interacted with the people at the tea stall and also posed for selfies.
A large number of Congress-led United Democratic Front workers, women and children thronged the route in all the places in the six receptions addressed by Mr Gandhi, on the second day of the visit.
