New Orleans Pelicans vice president of basketball operations David Griffin has revealed a framework for the package of assets that he'll seek in exchange for superstar center Anthony Davis, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The success of the Kawhi Leonard rental in Toronto has also seemed to embolden factions of Davis' nonpreferred and smaller-market destinations to inquire with New Orleans on trades, league sources said.
If you've come here looking for a trade machine graphic that sends Anthony Davis to the Bulls, you're going to be disappointed.
For the Pelicans, the idea of a multi-team trade would help bring more assets into the team that could help New Orleans in the 2019-20 season when the Pelicans will build around No. 1 pick Zion Williamson and guard Jrue Holiday.
As we continue to approach the NBA Draft and free agency, more New Orleans Pelicans rumors regarding Anthony Davis keep trickling out. Will Danny Ainge pull the trigger on a trade for Anthony Davis? According to Wojnarowski, the Pelicans and Griffin are "pursuing a combination of assets that include an All-Star player, a young player with All-Star potential and two first-round picks". NY can't offer the same quality of young talent as the Lakers or Celtics, so they make up for it in draft picks, and get Davis to help lure free agents to Madison Square Garden. The Pelicans get a first-team All-NBA defender in Smart, who improved his 3-point shooting this year, and two guys with All-Star potential in Brown and Tatum. The Lakers own the fourth overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

If the game is real, it certainly looks better than what we've seen so far from the Tales series in terms of technology. That's all we have to go on right now, but it's always nice to know that something is coming for fans of the series.
Griffin met with Davis in Los Angeles at the end of May, having what was a reportedly "respectful" and "productive" conversation about his future in New Orleans.
Before that, Griffin reiterated his belief that he can convince Davis to stay put.
Davis, 26, initially asked to be traded in late January, midway through his seventh season with the Pelicans. The Pelicans have reached the playoffs just twice during his tenure, with one series victory.
This trade scenario leans heavily on Griffin's opinion of this year's draft class, but it checks nearly all the boxes; the hope would be that the quality of the picks offsets the lack of a current All-Star.
The disgruntled six-time All-Star, who missed his seventh straight game to close out the 2018-19 season with what the team has listed as back spasms, wore a T-shirt with the famous Looney Tunes sign off, "That's All Folks", written across the chest.
