Philipper Zdar, one half of the French house duo Cassius, has died after falling from a window in Paris. The music community today is remembering Zdar and paying their respects to his friends and family and label Ed Banger Records.
Cassius were part of the electronic music scene in Paris, known as French touch.
Dreems, Cassius' follow-up to their 2016 album Ibifornia, is set for release this Friday (June 21).
He founded the dance music duo Cassius along with Hubert Blanc-Francard in 1996, having worked together since the late 1980s. Zdar was 52; he leaves behind an ex-wife and daughter.

The death of Philippe Zdar on Thursday has led to an outpouring of condolences from across the musical landscape for the French musician. Their 1999 single "Cassius 1999" was a crossover top-10 hit in the UK.
British electro producer Skream said: "Just woke up. and I genuinely can't believe what I'm reading". He was also one half of Motorbass, the legendary French house project he created alongside producer Étienne de Crécy.
Zdar is survived by his wife, Dyane Cerboneschi, and three children.
Zdar went on to build a brilliant career as a solo producer, working with acts as diverse as Beastie Boys, Pheonix and Cat Power.
