The 64 MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 and 48 MP ISOCELL Bright GM2 offer the "smallest pixel size now available in the market", according to Samsung.
The 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM2 also features the same Tetracell technology and remosaic algorithm as the GW1. According to Samsung, the conventional image sensor has a dynamic range of about 60dB while the human eye is considered to be around 120dB. It merges four pixels into one, pushing out 16MP images in low light environments and remosaic algorithm for full 64MP shots in brighter scenarios.
The sensor also comes with Dual Conversion Gain (DCG) which converts received light into electric signal according to the illumination of the environment.
On the video front, the new camera will be able to record 480 frames-per-second at 1080p Full HD resolution. Samsung said it will accelerate technology development in image sensors for smartphone cameras to grab a bigger share of the growing market.
