A prosecutor says a pregnant Chicago teen who was killed and whose baby was cut from her womb was strangled while being shown a photo album of the late son and brother of her attackers.
Two women, 46-year-old Clarisa Figueroa and her 24-year-old daughter Desiree Figueroa, are charged with murder in Ochoa-Lopez's death.
Figueroa and her daughter, 24-year-old Desiree Figueroa, were ordered held without bond on murder charges Friday.
One of the people she connected with was Ochoa-Lopez, who at that time was seven months pregnant, Murphy said.
In a bond court document, prosecutors say Desiree Figueroa was surprised to hear her mother say she was pregnant in October, 2018, since Clarisa's fallopian tubes had been tied.
She reportedly kept up the ruse by sharing an ultrasound photo on social media in December.
Murphy said that by April 1, Clarisa Figueroa had told her daughter that "she needed help killing a pregnant woman and taking a baby".
The arrests came three weeks after the disappearance of Ochoa-Lopez, whose decaying body was discovered this week in a garbage can in the backyard of Figueroa's home on the city's Southwest Side, about 6km from Ochoa-Lopez's own home.
Prosecutors claimed the mother-daughter duo then slashed open the teen's stomach and removed the baby boy. In Ochoa-Lopez's case, police and family members say she was killed after responding to a Facebook offer of free baby clothes. The elder Figueroa's boyfriend, 40-year-old Piotr Bobak, has been charged with concealment of a homicide.
Ochoa-Lopez's distraught husband said the situation is unbelievable.

Manchester United in touch with Fulham over Ryan Sessegnon
The 19-year-old at Old Trafford sounds like a good bet for the Red Devils who are going through a rebuilding phase themselves. The 19-year-old had 8 goal contributions in 38 appearances netting the ball on two occasions in the hard 2018/19 season.
The high school student went to Figueroa's home at least twice this year after connecting on the Facebook group and accepting Figueroa's offer of baby items, police said.
Police announced on Thursday that three people had been arrested and charged in connection with Ochoa-Lopez's death.
Prosecutors highlighted that Clarisa Figueroa made the announcement about being pregnant not long after one of her adult sons had died of natural causes. Desiree Figueroa told them her mother was in the hospital for problems with her legs. She also had blood on her arms, hands and face that authorities later determined was from Ochoa-Lopez, prosecutors said.
Suspicious, detectives spent the next several days subpoenaing hospital records and collecting DNA samples from the baby and Figueroa.
At some point on April 1, they were all together, and Clarisa and Desiree "kept acting unusual and on numerous occasions went into a separate room together", leading the boyfriend to tell Desiree that he would call police if they attempted to kill Ochoa-Lopez.
The investigators searched the area and found Ochoa-Lopez's vehicle nearby, Deputy Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said.
The husband did, and the family hired a private investigator who found Ochoa-Lopez's auto near the Figueroa home, Cortes said.
The twin sisters said they are living a nightmare. And I know now she is at peace wherever she is.
Armed with a search warrant, crime lab officers searched Figueroa's house Tuesday. Oak Lawn police said they were not contacted about Figueroa by the medical center or any other agency.
