A local in Nottinghamshire snapped a photo of one of the raccoon dogs after they escaped their enclosure on Tuesday. Mandy Marsh (bottom, with her niece Mazey Burton, five), 53, and her husband Dale, 54, were woken at about 4am by a "blood curdling scream" and ran outside.
"He came back and he said to me 'you are going to have to come and see this, there is something in the field attacking the pony and I have absolutely no idea what it is, '" Mandy said.
According to Yahoo News, police from Clarborough in Nottinghamshire have warned residents that "potentially dangerous" wild raccoon dogs have escaped from an enclosure.
"We ran out and this animal - we now know it's a raccoon dog - was trying to attack our goat", she explained.

This raccoon was absolutely insane. "The animals, which are described as being the same size of a medium-to-small-sized dog, are potentially unsafe if approached as they are not domesticated", it added, in a statement. "It was going absolutely mad".
It took the couple, armed with planks of wood, hours to chase off the animal, only for it to return minutes later and corner a dog walker outside their house.
Raccoon dogs, also known as tanukis, are members of the canid family, which includes dogs and wolves.
She claims police said they would deploy a helicopter it if it wasn't found soon, and a local wildlife tracker has offered to help in the meantime.
