The Cleveland Cavaliers have hired MI basketball's John Beilein as the team's next head coach, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported.
The 66-year-old Beilein does not have pro experience but he's long regarded as one of college hoops' best minds.

According to Wojnarowski, Beilein reached a deal Sunday and informed the team of his decision to leave on Monday morning.
Beilein replaces Larry Drew, who steered the team through countless injuries and other challenges as the Cavs finished 19-63. Cleveland's rebuild status, with point guard Collin Sexton and a 14 percent chance - along with NY and Phoenix - to earn the No. 1 pick in Tuesday's National Basketball Association draft lottery appealed to Beilein.
