Spokeswoman Deanna Congileo said in a statement Monday afternoon that Carter fell at his home in Plains, Georgia, while leaving to go turkey hunting.
In March, Carter surpassed George H.W. Bush as the longest-living president in USA history. Carter and his wife Rosalynn live in Plains, Georgia, roughly two-and-a-half hours south of Atlanta. He hopes the State of Georgia will allow him to rollover his unused limit to next year.
