We have a break in the weather this afternoon with some sun coming through. Some sunshine breaking through the clouds helps warm us fast through the morning and into the early afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday are set to send us back to damp spring days with all-day showers forecast and respective highs of 74 and 86 degrees.
Campsites at Tonto and Coconino national forests typically fill up by Friday on Memorial Day weekend. Mostly sunny skies with a stray storm possible on Saturday. However, if the frontal system bringing the showers Saturday night slows down just a little bit, then the clouds and damp weather could linger the first part of the morning Sunday - that's the worst-case scenario.
Through Thursday, it was the third coldest May in the last 30 years in Phoenix, with an average of 76.3 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday night - Mostly clear.
