This has left millions of fans gnawing at their mouths in exasperation, while attempting to assemble clues from the scraps Martin has tossed their way in the last few years. While he listed a great many things (making it a near impossibility that "The Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring" will ever be finished), the most intriguing one was his admission of a video game he's working on with a studio in Japan. Winter is coming, I told you, long ago... and so it is.
Martin's blog post more so detailed how his books would end differently from the show than going into any detail about this alleged game.
But on Tuesday, Martin wrote about the book on his Not A Blog website, and he seems to have set himself a deadline.
The poster showed Ned Stark sitting on the Iron Throne, which was odd in itself, given what happened to him at the end of that season, but crucially he wasn't alone. "And no." He says he'll write it, people can read it and then everyone can "argue about it on the internet".
Now, we will have to see how he ultimately decides to end the series and just how different of a direction he chooses to pivot from the HBO hit show.

Cities and teams put out requests to host the NFL Draft, much like they do for the Super Bowl, and get selected by a committee. The Browns will be hosting a tailgate party to celebrate getting the Draft on Thursday at 3 p.m.in Public Square.
Transfer: Hazard Signs For Borussia Dortmund
Earlier today Dortmund announced the signing of former Chelsea midfielder and Borussia Monchengladbach winger Thorgan Hazard .
Though viewers have petitioned for a remake of the uneven eighth and final season, Martin isn't one of them and isn't entertaining the notion. I asked them if they knew who Jon Snow's mother was.
Martin also reminded fans that he works "in a very different medium than [showrunners] David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss]", hinting that he has more time to flesh out every character's ending.
After "The Winds of Winter", the final book of the series will be titled "A Dream of Spring!".
He also has five shows in development at HBO, two shows at Hulu and one on the History Channel.
In an online message written in Valyrian - a fictional language from Martin's popular fantasy series - Air New Zealand offered to fly the American author to NZ "on us" to get some inspiration to finish his long-overdue sixth novel, The Winds of Winter.
