It is slated to be an all-electric SUV and is to be initially launched in the Chinese market in 2021.
The planned new SUV is the latest move in Volkswagen's aggressive growth strategy in China, where electric cars are given preferential treatment by authorities. Continuing on VW's quirky naming scheme, the new electric SUV will be called the ID ROOMZZ and will fill the need for a large SUV within the ID series.
VW Chief Executive Herbert Diess said the ID ROOMZ will be the flagship electric vehicle to be launched by Volkswagen in China. Now, they want to add a touch of luxury to EVs by introducing the four-seat I.D. Roomzz SUV concept, and it's got some pretty unique doors.
Volkswagen Group China aims to produce more than half of the group's global objective of 22 million BEVs by 2028, the company states in a press release.
This would see the SMV join the Atlas as verboten models for Volkswagen Australia in the popular large seven-seat SUV segment. Combining future IQ.Drive systems, the concept can glide fully automatically (Level 4 autonomous driving) through the traffic in ID. Pilot mode, where the occupants are provided with information via interactive light zones. This cannot only be adapted as per the passenger's personal wishes but also according to the respective driving mode.Читайте также: Chips Ahoy Cookies Recalled for 'Unexpected Solidified Ingredient'

The SMV concept measures in at 5.1 metres long, giving it plenty of space for a third row making it a 7-seat offering.
The VW I.D. Roomzz features all-wheel-drive technology. "With those two motors, the I.D. Roomzz can sprint from zero to 100 in just 6.6 seconds, reaching top speeds of up to 180 km/h (electronically regulated)".
The vehicle has an 82-kWh battery and can range between 450 km (WLTP) OR 475 km (NEDC, China) respectively before the battery has to be recharged.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
