The Sacramento Kings hired former Los Angeles Lakers coach Luke Walton to a four-year deal on April 13, 2019. This signified a major consolidation of power for Divac, emboldened by the Kings' long-term organizational commitment to him.
This is the second time Joerger has been dismissed by a front office that had unknown issues with him (the first being the Memphis Grizzlies, whom he coached from 2013-16), so while it's puzzling the Kings chose not to embrace what seems to be a clear upward trajectory, we don't really know what's been happening behind closed doors. But at that time, Walton didn't even interview with the Kings. Mid-season past year, the Cavs fired then-head coach Tyronn Lue.
"I want my coach to be right next to me and we can talk about the team and what's out there for us to make our team better", Divac said.
Walton worked as an assistant with the Warriors from 2014-16. The following season, he led the team to a 39-4 record as interim head coach when Kerr took a leave of absence to rehabilitate his back.Читайте также: Molinari leads by 2 entering Masters' final round
In announcing the end of his tenure, the Lakers said severing ties was a mutual decision between the franchise and Walton.
Walton spent nine of his 10 seasons as an National Basketball Association player with the Lakers.
The Lakers had cursory discussions with Walton's representatives on Wednesday in which they discussed whether there was a way forward, multiple sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
Rondo, who is on the sixth team of his career, praised Walton for his ability to relate to players. He won two previous titles as a deep reserve with the Lakers, in 2000 and 2001.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
