Supporters responded by chanting, "Pete!"
As a man in white shirt and tie with a sign designating him as "Mayor Pete" flogged a person in robes carrying a cross, the devil in a blazing red wardrobe taunted them.
"That gentleman believes that what he is doing is in line with the will of the creator", he added. "I view it differently. We ought to be able to do it differently". This is Buttigieg's first stop in Iowa since formally entering the race.
