Trump did not specify who he was referring to, but told reporters, "There are a lot of people out there that have done some very, very evil things, very bad things. I would say treasonous things against our country". He added, "I've been looking at them for a long time".
Mueller on Friday released his report to Trump-appointed Attorney General William P. Barr, who on Sunday summarized for the Senate Judiciary Committee that Mueller's investigation did not find that the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with Russian Federation in an effort to influence the 2016 USA presidential election.
But Trump took vindication from the summary of the report because Barr said that he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein - both of whom are potentially conflicted in the obstruction case - decided that there was not sufficient evidence to bring a charge of obstruction.
Those investigations could now shift to issues involving emoluments and potential conflicts of interest posed by Trump's business empire, especially as Trump and close allies still face federal investigations in NY.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, the Senate Judiciary chairman who spent the weekend with Trump in Florida, said his committee will investigate the actions of the Justice Department in the Russian Federation investigation, including the FBI's use of a dossier compiled by British spy Christopher Steele.
While Democrats' congressional hearings are not likely to quietly fade away in coming days and weeks, there is now more risk attached to them.
Barr said the report also looked at concerns that Trump had obstructed justice - in other words, attempted to block legal investigations. Other Democrats, including candidates vying for the 2020 presidential nomination, have called for release of the full report.
Kamarck was referring to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the top U.S. Democrat, who recently said in a Washington Post interview that the country should not go down the path of impeachment because Trump is "just not worth it".Читайте также: Pinterest Files For An Initial Public Offering Of Stock On NYSE
Robert Mueller's report on Russian collusion was released after two years of tight-lipped investigation.
"While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate (clear) him", the report stated. Nadler later held a conference call with Democratic members on the Judiciary panel and reiterated calls for transparency.
Republicans unified to call for Congress to move on.
Trump celebrated the findings but did not appear ready to let the matter drop, calling the investigation "an illegal takedown that failed".
That, Democrats have said, was a form of obstructing justice.
Shortly before the report's release, Trump called it "ridiculous" while speaking to reporters outside the White House, and said that he hoped it was shown to the public.
Pelosi and Schumer on Sunday accused Barr, who previously served as attorney general from 1991 to 1993, of neither being a "neutral observer" nor in a position "to make objective determinations about the report", citing Barr's "public record of bias" against the Russian Federation investigation.
Barr said Sunday that Mueller's report "does not recommend any further indictments, nor did the special counsel obtain any sealed indictments that have yet to be made public". A court fight could, in theory, reach the Supreme Court.
In the meantime, Democrats will keep the focus on full transparency. "I have no idea about [the] Mueller report", he said.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
