A UN Security Council sanctions committee has agreed to allow North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's delegation to travel to Vietnam for a summit meeting with US President Donald Trump, according to diplomats.
Trump has been eager for the February 27-28 summit in Vietnam, even though a first meeting in Singapore in June produced only vague commitments from Kim and little concrete progress since.
"I don't think this will be the last meeting by any chance", Trump said. That criticism may be levied again for the Vietnam summit.
"President Trump is looking to, after really in some respects breaking the ice in June, to talk in more depth about the kind of future North Korea could enjoy if it follows through on its commitment to final and full denuclearization", a senior administration official said.

"It is ultimately about the denuclearization of North Korea".
A delegation of six US officials led by special envoy Stephen Biegun landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi early on Thursday, a source told VnExpress.
A withdrawal of USA troops from South Korea is not under consideration ahead of Trump's summit next week with Kim, a senior administration official says. Officials said further details will be released later. But there are no substantive signs North Korea is taking steps towards dismantling its nuclear program.
Biegun said after that trip his talks in North Korea had been "productive" but there was "hard work to do" before the summit.
Russian Federation has also blamed United Nations sanctions for creating "serious humanitarian problems" in North Korea.
