Are you having trouble visualizing why you would need or otherwise want a foldable smartphone like the Galaxy Fold? The Mate X foldable phone looks like a better version of the Samsung counterpart, which, worth noting, we're stating without having a hands-on moment with the Samsung phone.
Let's take a look at Mate X and what it actually promises. Some features of this so far appear to involve the camera button I mentioned earlier for portraits as well as toggling the screens when the phone detects you've flipped it around. Since you have 6-inch plus displays on both the sides, you won't be disappointed when using the camera. On the surface, you've got a what is essentially an 8-inch tablet that houses an OLED screen, a meaty 4500 mAh battery and Huawei's speedy Kirin 980 processor (same as the Mate 20 Pro). The bezels on the Oppo foldable are a bit more in comparison to the Mate X.
The announcement is a blow to Samsung, which announced its Galaxy Fold last week ahead of MWC, formerly called Mobile World Congress. Keeping the folding screen on the outside prevents that issue.
There was speculation online as to whether the newly-announced Mate X would follow suit.
When folded, the Mate X has a primary 6.6-inch display, with a 6.4-inch display at the rear.

China's Xiaomi unveils 5G smartphone for US$680
Donovan Sung, director of product management at Xiaomi took the stage at Palau de Congressos to announce the new old smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G , on the other hand, launches in May for 599 Euro ($680) which will surely undercut the competition.
Samsung Fold and Mate X have adopted different folding ways to fold their screens.
Finally, unfolding the Mate X results in the AMOLED screen to reveal its true physical dimensions.
Of course, just because it's priced out of reach of most people doesn't make the phone itself any less exciting.
Samsung Fold does not fold flat, and leaves a small gap there. With more than 100 components involved in its design, the result is that the Mate X's hinge allows for an ultra-thin design.
The Huawei Mate X uses a "Falcon Wing Hinge" design that means the hinge sits slightly recessed into the phone's chassis. When folded into its phone-like form, its thickness is only 11mm. BOE has reportedly supplied foldable screens for Huawei. The Huawei Mate X, though, is the exact opposite.
