Nickelodeon began to stream its popular '90s shows via streaming channel NickSplat, last summer, and now one of the network's classic comedy series, All That, will be revived with an all-new cast, reports Variety.
It was like a kids version of In Living Color or SNL and with characters like Baggin' Saggin' Barry, Super Dude, and the misfit fast food employees of Good Burger, the quality of talent matched, too.
In a move that's sure to excite fans who grew up with the series, the plan is to recruit some original cast members to help introduce All That to the next generation of viewers. "It gave me an opportunity", Thompson told Variety. This includes Kenan & Kel with Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, The Amanda Show with Amanda Bynes, and The Nick Cannon Show with Nick Cannon. Former cast member and Saturday Night Live member Kenan Thompson has been slated as the executive producer.
According to a release, the new weekly series will showcase a fresh cast of kids, with original cast members making special appearances. There's a reason we've gotten revivals like Fuller House and Carmen Sandiego (by the way, you should watch the new Netflix animated series...it's solid) in the past several years. Now, Nickelodeon says that a miniseries will also premiere around the same time as the film.
On the show's program, Robbins said viewers could expect "a sort of mash-up of some of the old sketches and a lot of new sketches".
