So on February 6, (February 7 AEDT), they released a joint video unveiling their new projects and watched them together, for the first time.
In these ads produced by Escape Velocity, Reynolds appears to act in good faith while gushing about "my friend, Hugh Jackman", who follows up with a foul-mouthed insult about his rival, and yes, it seems that Jackman wins this round, scripted (by Reynolds, Jackman and George Dewey) or not. The jokesters had formerly been trolling one another on social media for years, but wanted to put that behind them. In the video above, Reynolds keeps his side of the bargain with a heartfelt commercial for Jackman's Laughing Man coffee. Ryan uploaded a video on his YouTube channel, simply titled, "Truce".
The Hollywood heavyweights, in an attempt to make peace, agreed to create commercials for the other's company.
After watching the "professional" behind-the-scenes video for the coffee brand from Reynolds, Jackman tells the Deadpool star that he's "not quite ready" to show his ad yet. Ryan's voice introduced scenic shots of people sourcing coffee beans, ordering a freshly-brewed cup in a coffee shop, and Ryan boasted how the coffee "uplifts communities around the world". Unfortunately, only one actor ended up sticking to their word.
