The 69-year-old rocker's wife, Kristen Buckingham, said on social media that it's unclear if the damage after the surgery is permanent. "Needless to say, all touring and shows now scheduled have been put on pause for the moment as he gathers the strength to heal completely". She noted that the family shared its story in hopes that it would inspire others to seek preventative care.
"This past year has been a very stressful and hard year for our family to say the least".
All his shows and tours have been canceled until he's fully recovered, she said.
