Warriors star Kevin Durant absolutely shredded the media Wednesday night, and the rant is absolutely outstanding. I come here to work every day and cause no problems. I play the right way, or I try to play the right way. "Now that I'm not talking to you all, it's a problem with me. Come on man. Grow up".
While some have couched the Durant saga as a media boycott, he has conducted one-on-one interviews, eschewing press conferences and group sessions after shootarounds and games.
Durant won't need to worry about his words being twisted this time around, as this hissy fit is already going viral, and it's going to be played in full, so at least that shouldn't be a concern for the 30-year-old making $31.5 million this season to play for the best basketball team on the planet. I just wanna play ball. Perhaps the fallout from this tantrum will be overshadowed by Thursday's National Basketball Association trade deadline, but Durant certainly didn't do much to nip this in the bud by acting the way he did. He just walk around here, don't talk to nobody.
Teammates and coaches have understood all along that the decision and speculation have weighed on Durant, but he hadn't allowed those feelings to come out this publicly until Wednesday.
The All-Star is entering the ninth day of the standoff, as chronicled by The Athletic in a story published Tuesday outlining where Durant stands and the presumption he will not return to the Warriors for another season. Yes, Kevin Durant is a big part of that.

"Honestly, I think it's more him not being able to control his own voice in terms of, obviously he's talked about it from time to time throughout the year, he's focusing on basketball", Warriors guard Stephen Curry said.
"I like our chances, in terms of what we're about and what we're capable of". Durant, who is active on social media, spent Sunday liking many tweets that opposed the article.
You weren't talking to the media before...
"I'm done", he told a reporter.
