According to the post, the caller heard the man yelling "why don't you die" repeatedly - but when authorities arrived the entire incident was pinned on the eight-legged visitor.
The log said "police spoke with all parties who advised that husband had only been trying to kill a spider (has serious fear of spiders)". He apologized to the police for any inconvenience they may have experienced by having to visit his home because of the screams. No injuries sighted [except to spider].

The reports did not identify the man, or the type of spider. Australia is home to almost 3,000 species of spider, including the poisonous Redback and Funnel Web. Jayden Burleigh, from Sydney, died after receiving treatment at a hospital.
