The LG SIGNATURE OLED TV R (model 65R9) reimagines the everyday TV with a revolutionary form factor only made possible by the company's industry-leading OLED technology, boasting picture and sound quality that is second to none. It's thin, but doesn't look particularly bendy at first glance. However, the rollable display isn't the only impressive feature of the TV R. The base station, which holds the display is also a powerhouse for audio consumption, equipped with a 100-watt Dolby Atmos speaker for impressive built-in audio.
The TV can be voice controlled using Alexa or SIri, and can switch into "Line View" with a smaller screen for showing a clock, or music controls.
The TV unfurls itself silently and engineers have told LG executives that the TV can be furled and unfurled around 50,000 times - which means if you turned it off and on twice a day, you wouldn't hit the upper limit for about 34 years. This time, we're looking at a full-featured, 65-inch TV that's actually coming to market this year. In an effort to make large TVs less conspicuous, LG said that manufacturers are trying to create slimmer and unobtrusive screens.
As is the case with many a modern TV, there are also plenty of inputs on the back including four HDMI 2.1s and a few USBs.
