Earlier, it was rumored that the Fuchsia OS will be capable of running Android applications and now we have a confirmation for the same from Google. All in all, Fuchsia is still a mystery for the most part, even though we've already seen some graphical representations of the OS have been shown, well, parts of it.
The memo, spotted by 9to5Google, suggests that Fuchsia will use a special version of Android Runtime to enable Android apps, which means that users won't have to ditch the apps they've come to rely on when the update finally arrives.
Of course, considering Fuchsia runs on different kernels and has a lot of technical differences from Android, it's unclear exactly how the Android Runtime will work on Fuchsia, or whether it will introduce any limitations. Epic Games, the maker of the hit video game "Fortnite", a year ago bypassed Google Play altogether by letting players download the Android version of the app directly.

Many of you are probably not as familiar with the Google Fuchsia OS, and are wondering why is it being mentioned so frequently in news. These two new additions are big news for those following the operating system, but the news doesn't stop there.
According to Andrii Kulian - engineer at Google's Android Frameworks - Android apps will be able to work across three categories of devices: phones (including foldable ones), desktop PCs (in free-form windowing mode), and embedded systems (like cars). The Fuschia version of ART can be installed on any Fuschia OS device using the Fuschia OS version of the APK file, a.far file. The company previously said Fuchsia is just "one of many experimental open-source projects", but didn't indicate a timeline for its release. It will be many months before we see Fuchsia in the wild.
