It would seem, with Gary Kubiak not planning to move into the role of offensive coordinator, the Broncos will go a different direction, allowing Munchak to perhaps make a lateral move into the role of offensive line coach in Denver. With Fangio running the defense and Kubiak calling the shots on offense, the Broncos' new coaching staff appeared to be in place. Kubiak was considered a top candidate for the job, but the Falcons hired Dirk Koetter on Tuesday.
It turns out, though, Kubiak will not be joining Fangio's staff. With the likes of Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater and Joe Flacco headlining the group, it's telling that Fangio already committed to rolling with Keenum shortly after becoming the Broncos head coach.
Kubiak, 57, remains under contract with the Broncos, so his immediate future in the National Football League is unclear. While Gary Kubiak was expected to take on that role, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday the two sides could not come to an official agreement.
