BCCI and Baroda Cricket Association have reportedly already offered their support to Martin, who is on ventiliator support and it is understood the next few hours will be critical.
Martin played for India from 1999 to 2001, in 10 ODIs.
Now, Baroda cricketer and India global Krunal Pandya, brother of fellow cricketer Hardik, has extended help to Martin by handing Patel a blank cheque.
His wife had appealed to BCCI for financial support and the latter issued Rs 5 lakh for Martin's treatment. The cricket community has come forward to help their collegue at his time of crisis. Former Baroda Cricket Association secretary Sanjay Patel was among the first to help the family. Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly helped the family with a bank transfer into Martin's account. When asked about the Martin, Ganguly said, "Martin and I have been teammates and I remember him as a quiet, introvert-type of person". However, Martin totalled over 9,000 First-Class runs at a very good average of 46.65. The board promptly sanctioned Rs 5 lakh for his treatment.
"While praying for Martin's speedy recovery, I'd like his family to know that they don't stand alone".
Patel also received assurance of help from Team India head coach Ravi Shastri, who is now in New Zealand for the upcoming series. "From Irfan and Yusuf Pathan to Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra, many India players too have promised help".
The Delhi High Court had rejected his anticipatory bail but later permitted it, following which, Martin had started to coach the Vadodara Ranji Cricket Team.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
