So far, in Germany there were 20 reported deaths associated with Influenza.
A year ago in January, the practice tested 268 patients and saw 107 positive results with Influenza B being the most common.
On its weekly FluWatch website, PHAC said there were 20,494 laboratory-confirmed influenza cases reported by the provinces and territories as of January 12, majority caused by H1N1 and most affecting those under age 65.
Low vaccination rates among adults likely contributed to the high mortality rates last season, which hospitalized or killed more Americans than any seasonal flu in more than 40 years, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Young children have been especially vulnerable to H1N1 this season. The main circulating strain remains as A (H1N1) pdm09, which is well matched to the strains in this year's flu vaccines. There were some 79,000 deaths, and close to a million hospitalizations.
PHAC collects data only on laboratory-confirmed cases of people who were tested after seeking medical attention.

There have been seven outbreaks in long-term care facilities investigated and seven schools across the state reported more than 10 percent absenteeism due to illness since the start of the flu season on August 30.
Skowronski said there has been a lot of regional variation in the timing and intensity of the influenza epidemic across the country. Often times you see a spike in the "B" cases later on in the flu season.
"We won't have the full picture until end of season, but we can already tell more people have received a vaccine in Iowa", she said.
Flu activity increased over the past week, squelching hopes of an early peak and leading at least 12 states to shut down some schools. People tend to get vaccinated more when they develop a habit of doing so.
