The Florida State Attorney's Office dismissed the charge against Foster which stemmed from an incident with his ex-girlfriend at a hotel, TMZ reported Thursday, citing a court document.
The charges stemmed from a November 24 incident in the 49ers' team Tampa hotel, in which Foster's ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis told "Good Morning America" he "slapped me and pushed me".
Foster and the woman, Elissa Ennis, had a disturbing and chaotic history that included multiple accusations of domestic violence. Police said that "Foster slapped her phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest area, and slapped her with an open hand on the left side of her face". He was claimed off waivers the next day by the Redskins and placed on the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List by the NFL - a move that prevents the linebacker from playing until the league's investigation into Foster has been completed.
Foster, 24, was charged with one count of first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail, according to reports. It's unclear why the charge was dropped. He's been placed on the National Football League commissioner's exempt list since - allowing the 24-year-old to get paid without playing. Ennis later told her story to "Good Morning America" in December.
