C-Lab is using the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show to "refine" and "prepare" prototypes of eight projects based on rapidly-evolving artificial intelligence technology.
"We will present promising C-Lab projects leveraging AI technologies in the field of video content creation, perfume making and more", says Inkuk Hahn, vice president and head of the Creativity & Innovation Center at Samsung Electronics.
In addition to all of these C-Lab projects which are still under Samsung's wing, many past projects from the incubator will be making an appearance at CES as independent companies.

"PRISMIT" is an AI news analysis service which creates issue-driven timelines in order to help readers understand the issue at a glance. This project is a custom perfume-making service that will let users make their own customized fragrance and share the recipe for it.
Samsung also has physical projects in mind, such as the Girin Monitor Stand that auto adjusts so that the users can keep a proper posture at all times while they work on their computers.
This is an AI desk light that uses an embedded camera to detect and automatically adjust the lighting depending on a user's situation, such as whether they're studying, relaxing or focusing.
All you'd have to do is take a photo of your favorite perfume and the app will analyze the common ingredients and recommend other fragrances you might like. It even comes with a complementary controller which reminds the user to "focus on study when the user is using a smartphone or sleeping".
Another interesting invention is SnailSound, a device for people with hearing impairments. With a smart nonlinear amplification and AI-based adaptive noise suppression algorithms, SnailSound amplifies inaudible sound and suppresses background noise at the same time to give a better hearing experience to the hearing impaired without expensive hearing aids. It's also possible to take a picture of a perfume to have the app find out the ingredients for it, which can then be adjusted to better suit the user's taste.
