Days after her disappearance her husband Chris moved his schoolgirl lover into the family home.
Mr Fuller said detectives spoke to Lyn's family on Wednesday morning and they "were certainly relieved to hear this result".
Meanwhile, Chris Dawson's family has released a statement proclaiming his innocence.
Earlier this week, the ODPP provided advice to police, and following further inquiries, NSW police detectives applied for an arrest warrant before travelling to Queensland.
Magistrate Dennis Kinsella denied Mr Dawson's bail application, saying he was an unacceptable risk of failing to appear.
Cook told reporters detectives were "confident" about their case against Mr Dawson despite not knowing where Lyn's body was. He held his head in his hands while the allegations against him were read out.
Police confirmed that on Wednesday, Dawson was taken arrested at his house in Coolum on the Gold Coast.
It has not been determined whether they will fly out of the Brisbane or Gold Coast airport.

"We have to also ensure Chris gets due process".

It wasn't until six weeks after her disappearance that he reported her missing to police.
Detectives from the NSW homicide squad began reinvestigating her suspected murder in 2015 and sent a brief of evidence to the Director of Public Prosecutions in April this year.

"We want to be put beyond any doubt whether Lynette was there or not, and it was important for us in terms of prosecution to ensure that we did the dig and we put that beyond any doubt", he said.
