Police did not charge Hunt with a crime, but the Chiefs released him for being untruthful with them about what happened during the February incident. The team said "the video today confirms that fact. At that time, the National Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue", the Chiefs said.
It looks like the Kansas City Chiefs roster isn't the only entity that disgraced running back Kareem Hunt has been removed from in the past week.
Hunt was also alleged to have punched a man at a OH resort in June, but TMZ reported the man said he was not injured and did not pursue charges. While no charges were filed from the altercation, two police reports were created. The woman hits him in the face and Hunt becomes enraged. Hunt is listed as the suspect in one of them and a woman, Abigail Ottinger, is the suspect in the other one.
Chronologically, this was actually the first (known) Hunt altercation of the calendar year, taking place in the hours after the Chiefs' Jan. 6 playoff loss to the Titans.
