Amazon Web Services will be expanding its massive reach beyond the public cloud and into the data center by offering racks of its own servers and storage appliances that organizations can put into their own data centers and easily connect back to AWS cloud services.
With Outposts, customers can now put AWS into their own datacenters using the AWS hardware.
Drawing on its chip-development group, AWS also said that it has built custom chips for artificial intelligence that will be available from its cloud, following the lead of other internet companies like Google and Alibaba. Carrying out Managed Blockchain requires the use of the AWS Console and configuring nodes.
AWS said it is working with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle to identify patients for clinical trials who could benefit from certain cancer therapies.
The second product has been launched to help AWS customers run the two most popular blockchain frameworks with less of the heavy lifting.

AWS has also boosted its machine learning services. The new service will let satellite operators get access to a ground station at short notice on a pay-as-you-go basis. "At DigitalGlobe, a Maxar Technologies company, we employ AWS Ground Station to augment the capabilities of our global network of ground station antennas".
Prepackaged machine learning models for common business tasks-demand forecasting, data preparation, natural language processing-can now be purchased in AWS Marketplace and deployed to Amazon SageMaker.
