Officials from the Ocala Police Department said a man accused of shooting a woman to death inside an Ocala Walmart is in custody. The woman screamed for help during the altercation, leading a store clerk to intervene and call 911.
"When we arrived, we heard a gunshot, he was inside the residence with a self inflicted gunshot wound", Ocala Police Public Information Officer Meghan Shay said.
The Ocala Star-Banner reports that the woman and the shooter had been dating for nine months, but had recently broken up.
The suspect was later found at home in critical condition after he apparently shot himself, authorities said.
Johnson is not expected to survive, police said.

The victim and the gunman dated for about nine months but were now not a couple, according to Scotty Ballard.
Scotty Ballard told the Ocala Star-Banner that he was the victim's roommate and they had gone to Walmart on Saturday to buy furnishings for their apartment.
Ballard says the suspect wanted to get back together, but she did not.
After the shots were fired, the man calmly exited the store. He has not died of his injuries at the time this article was publish, and is being treated for his injuries at an Ocala hospital.
Ocala police said on social media that the man and woman were involved in an argument before the shooting took place shortly before 3 p.m. The Ocala Police Department confirmed that the woman had died.
