OnePlus today announced the launch of the OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple Edition in India, roughly a week after its launch in China. Initially, the handset was launched in Mirror Black and Midnight Black color variants for Rs. 37,999 and the new variant is also expected to be priced the same. But, in a unusual turn of events, that's not the case. A purple phone isn't going to be for everyone, having more color options is always a good thing, and the rear panel that starts out a light purple and then uses a gradient effect to transition to a darker color is a neat effect.
"The OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple is a stunning combination of power and beauty - the black-to-purple fade is like a thunderstorm on a summer night", said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO, OnePlus. It is priced the same - at Rs. 41,999 - as the OnePlus 6T's other colour variants and comes with certain launch offers.
That colour looks a lot like the bright purple phones we've been seeing from the likes of Samsung, though OnePlus has added an "evocative "S" curve" on the back of the phone to "highlight the depth of colour". Along with India, OnePlus will make it available in the North American and other European markets from November 15th. Presumably sales will open up at 9am GMT. Instead, it is available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants.

This Samsung foldable phone costs 3x more than a Note 9
As is now customary in the smartphone business, gaming performance has been boosted thanks to a new ARM Mali G76 GPU. The device could house a dual-camera setup at the back and support a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well.
The OnePlus 6T is also the first smartphone in the USA to feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and it's the first OnePlus phone ever to launch in the U.S. with a carrier partner. It comes packed with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, with the same price tag as the OnePlus 6T Midnight Black and Mirror Black, at Rs 41,999. The new phone, which replaces the OnePlus 6, comes with a couple of unique features. That means a 6.4-inch display with 2,340 x 1,080 resolution, teardrop notch, dual 16- and 20-megapixel cameras, Snapdragon 845 processor, 3,700mAh battery, and Android 9 Pie out of the box.
For selfies, the OnePlus 6T sports a 16-megapixel front camera sensor with EIS.
