Remember when Google launched the Pixel 3 and 3 XL handsets on October 9th and showed off the impressive Night Sight mode that made a mockery of the difficulty of taking photos in low-light conditions? Now, Google is finally rolling out this feature as a software update to not just the Pixel 3, but also the Pixel 2 and the first Pixel. We'll let Google explain: "Night Sight constantly adapts to you and the environment, whether you're holding Pixel or propping it on a steady surface". Suffice to say, if you take a lot of pics in dimly lit restaurants, the Pixel 3 and Night Sight is probably your ticket to way better food photography. Similar to Huawei's Night Mode, Night Sight shoots multiple images during a three to four-second window, and then combines those images together to create a final pic that looks better than each original frame on its own. "All you need to do is press the shutter button".
Once Night Sight is enabled, the Google Pixel will automatically suggest that Night Sight be used when its about to take a photo in low light.
