NASA chief Jim Bridenstine elaborated this week on the reasons why the United States space agency launched a safety review of SpaceX and Boeing, which are building spaceships for astronauts, including their workplace culture and drug-free policies.
The nine companies include Lockheed Martin Corp., Deep Space Systems Inc. and Moon Express Inc. "When you combine those investments with the extensible capability of the team and our history of delivering humans to the moon and bringing them back, we're positioned well to meet NASA's mission needs".
Apart from building a human colony on Mars, scientists are also planning to build up a colony on the moon, and as per Russian scientists they will make it happen within 20 years.
"The directive I'm signing today will refocus America's space program on human exploration and discovery", the president said at the signing ceremony.
We will remind, 49 years ago, American astronaut Neil Armstrong the first of the humans stepped on the lunar surface. The company will provide any number of contributions towards NASA's mission to the Moon. "If you want to learn the age of the solar system, you take samples from the moon and analyze them".
As part of that directive, companies can bid on contracts to develop services to deliver new lunar payloads, through NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services.

Doctors swallow Lego for science
They concluded swallowed LEGO wasn't a huge concern, but some toys can be risky to swallow and parents should still be vigilant. The primary goal of the research was to see how long it takes for a tiny toy like a Lego to find its way through the human body.

Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders watched the game from courtside seats. While he was unable to finish tonight's game, Ball did not sound anxious about his status going forward.
NASA said in its own statement that winning proposals "will enable important technology demonstrations that will inform the development of future landers and other exploration systems needed for humans to return to the lunar surface, and help prepare the agency to send astronauts to explore Mars".
NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine described the announcement as "tangible progress in America's return to the Moon's surface to stay". The agency now partners with the private sector for other missions, including human transport to the International Space Station (ISS) wherein SpaceX and Boeing are developing capsules for that goal, and the Directive expands that to include deep space missions. The Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) has its first official partners. However, only 12 astronauts have ever stepped foot on the lunar surface.
The CLPS announcement comes as NASA conducts safety reviews of two of its major private partners, SpaceX and Boeing.
