As the votes tallies trickled on Election Night, all available signs indicated that Florida had blown the 2018 midterms in spectacular fashion, elevating noted not-racist Ron DeSantis to the governor's mansion and shameless liar Rick Scott to the United States Senate, both by the narrowest of margins.
Scott's campaign separately filed a lawsuit demanding that the Broward County supervisor of elections be ordered to turn over several records detailing the counting and collection of ballots cast. The office is under state monitoring. An undervote is when the number of votes cast in a particular race is lower than vote totals in other races on the ballot.
High-profile U.S. elections in Florida remained unresolved and the prospect of legal challenges, recounts and ballot reviews are setting the stage for possible weeks of uncertainty.
As of Wednesday morning, DeSantis led Gillum by 43,039 votes out of almost 8.2 million cast, or a difference of 0.526 of a percentage point.
According to the Sun Sentinel, an unusual pattern has emerged in Broward County, where many more people voted in local races than the U.S. Senate race, when the trend is typically the reverse.
And one conservative congressman in Florida has taken matters a step further, calling for Snipes' removal. While that margin, if it holds, would require a recount, DeSantis has mostly stayed out of the fray, saying he was working on plans for taking office in January. By two o'clock that same day the Florida Secretary of State is expected to certify those results and order a machine recount for any multi-county races within half a percentage point.
Andrew Gillum - with his wife, RJ - is the state's Democratic nominee for governor.

So both teams have one loss, but West Virginia has the best win, the best loss, and it has played the more hard schedule. If they win outright, and one of the teams in front of them loses, Oklahoma might be able to sneak into the top four.

A next-door neighbour said he called authorities about six months ago when he heard loud banging and shouting at Long's home. The Gun Violence Archive says more than 12,400 lives in America have been lost in 2018 as the result of gun violence.
In the lawsuit, Scott and the NRSC allege that Snipes is "unwilling to disclose records revealing how many electors voted, how many ballots have been canvassed, and how many ballots remain to be canvassed".
"I think what's happening in Broward County should concern every American, that Rick Scott came out of election night with 55,000 votes, a 55,000 vote lead over Senator Nelson and every day that has shrunk".
Since Tuesday's election, "it has become clear there are many more uncounted ballots than was originally reported", Gillum spokeswoman Johanna Cervone said in a statement, amid reports that unknown numbers of ballots had yet to be counted in Democrat-leaning Broward County.
Since Tuesday, 80,000 new votes have mysteriously turned up in Broward County and another 15,000 in Palm Beach County. Donald Trump, who never misses an opportunity to engage in some evidence-free voter fraud fearmongering, has accused Fusion GPS, the outfit behind the 2016 opposition research "dossier", of helping election officials find "votes out of nowhere".
It appears fears of fraud may not be unfounded.
While en route to France for ceremonies marking the end of World War I, Trump's tweet storm included criticisms of Florida elections officials and allegations of fraud.
State Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips ruled there has "been a violation of the Florida constitution", as well as the state's public records act, by not turning over requested records.
The fact that a Black woman was presiding over the vote counting process in the pivotal Broward County likely only compounded the apparent anger Republicans were expressing over the elections they thought they won Tuesday night.
