Elon Musk tweeted on Sunday that his aspiring underground transportation project will open its first test tunnel in December, in Hawthorne, Calif.
Loop has been described as a large "skate" or platform that could carry a vehicle under and around Los Angeles traffic at speeds up to 155 miles per hour (250 kilometers per hour).
Elon Musk moved a step forward in his vision for the future of public transportation, announcing that his Boring Co.'s hyperloop test tunnel will open in less than two months.
Musk, a space entrepreneur and electric-car pioneer, has pledged to complete the test tunnel by the end of the year. Through his tunnel-digging firm, the Boring Co., Musk envisions the construction of a zero-emissions underground transit system that transports people using high-speed electric sleds. The public can take free rides on the futuristic, high-speed underground shortcut on the following day that is December 11.

The Test Tunnel, as it's called, is the first leg of Musk's underground tunnel system located underneath the streets of Hawthorne, California.
The trial tunnel will have a top speed of 155 miles per hour, according to the billionaire-entrepreneur, surpassing the 125 mph traveled by an electric sled in a video of a test run posted in May previous year.
