"Death is Inevitable. Living a life we can be proud of is something we can control", the California native once said. After defying multiple life-expectancies of 10-, 15-, and 18-years-old, Wineland initially decided not to seek out a lung transplant after becoming a legal adult, an operation that can significantly prolong the life of someone with CF.
According to the US Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, more than 70,000 people suffer from the condition worldwide.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic lung disease with no cure. When she was 12 I tutored her...often times at the hospital. The median survival age is 40. Your prayers, support and encouraging words, have been a huge source of strength for her and her family.
"Claire is unable to do the work that she loves, which is traveling the world to share her message with thousands of people". At one point, Wineland looked up at her mother and said, "After you die, you're closer to everyone you love because you're part of everything".
