Judy B. Cochran, the mayor of Livingston, Texas, got her revenge on a 12-foot, 580-pound alligator she believes ate one of her miniature horses years ago when she killed it on Sunday, the Houston Chronicle reported. Cochran, 73, is the recently elected mayor of the town of Livingston, population 5,000 or so, as well as a grandmother of three and a great-grandmother of one.
According to Texas Park and Wildlife, when hunting alligators it's required that a hook and line be secured on private property and that firearms, air guns, and arrow guns may be used to dispatch alligators legally captured on a taking device in any county.
She killed it with one clean shot after hunting it for years at her ranch on the Trinity River. "Nana, you better hit him good, because that's that horse-eater".

Cochran's ranch is home to cattle, as well as dogs and cats, horses and several miniature horses - she's not sure exactly how many, she said, because "they multiply".
But Mrs Cochran said she had a permit and met all legal requirements. "Moye Taxidermy will be processing it, we'll eat the meat, have the head mounted and have the ridgeback part of the tail in my office", she said.
The body of the alligator is at a taxidermist, where it will be made into boots.
Don't worry though, the gator won't go to waster.
