Apple's decision to remove all episodes of Jones' popular show - rather than just specific offending episodes - is one of the largest enforcement actions meant to curb conspiratorial news content by a technology company to date.
A deeper dive into Apple's guidelines says the company bans apps that feature "content that is offensive, insensitive, upsetting, meant to disgust, or in exceptionally poor taste", according to Buzzfeed News.
The two agreed that users should mute or block accounts that offend them ― though people who feel victimized by Infowars conspiracy theories would likely remind them that Alex Jones' followers have been known to terrorize his targets.
'We continue to monitor apps for violations of our guidelines and if we find content that violates our guidelines and is harmful to users we will remove those apps from the store as we have done previously, ' Apple said. YouTube recently removed Alex Jones' and InfoWars' channels, but similarly to Apple, the InfoWars app remains available in the Google Play Store. Apple had said the podcasts violated the company's rules against hate speech.
Following the purge of Infowars by big tech companies earlier this week, the Infowars app has been trending: now, it's ranked No. 3 in the "News" category of Apple's App Store, behind Twitter and News Break and ahead of apps for news organizations including CNN, Fox News, the New York Times, and BuzzFeed. Family members of some of the victims are suing Jones for defamation.

Dorsey said Twitter would hold Jones to the same standard as it does every account.
Twitter has drawn public outcry for not removing Jones' account.
Infowars apparently scrambled Thursday to avoid getting kicked off Twitter - the only big digital platform that hasn't yet booted the hate-mongering media outfit - by deleting old posts that violated the social-media company's terms of service.
