McDonald's announced on Thursday that it will make one fast food lover's existence by presenting them with a very special mobile "McGold Card", which is worth what the company is calling "free McDonald's for life".
"To celebrate Mobile Order & Pay, we're giving one of our mobile customers the chance to win the McGold Card and join a select group of McDonald's fans, just for using the app", said Hashim Amin, the head of USA digital at McDonald's.
Though the fast-food chain played up the gold card myth in its marketing video-the victor will receive a custom gold-plated phone case along with his or her food-McDonald's isn't giving out all the Big Macs and Happy Meals a person could eat.
Customers may only receive one entry per day during the contest. McDonald's says that this will be enough to eat two seven-dollar meals per week for the next 50 years, which is correct if you do the math. The contest starts today (August 10th) and runs through August 24th. Victor will also receive a custom gold-plated phone case. To qualify, you have to download the mobile app, and then place and order and pay for it via the app.

McDonald's is kicking off a new contest that will result in a lucky victor bumping the Amex from their wallet in favor of a new Gold Card.
There will be only a single victor, which makes McDonald's looks "incredibly cheap and chintzy", Frankel said. McDonald's will select one lucky victor out of all the customers who shopped between those days using the app. The card is actually a gold plated phone case that will be awarded to the competition's victor. Or, to be more specific, two meals per week for 50 years. The rules state to, "put only the date you are sending the email in numeric format (mm/dd/yy) in the subject line and your first/last name in the body of the email".
The campaign is meant to get more people to download and use its McDonald's mobile app.
