It comes two weeks after a shallow 6.9-magnitude quake on Aug 5 levelled tens of thousands of homes, mosques and businesses across Lombok.
A deep, undersea natural disaster with a preliminary magnitude of 8.2 has struck Fiji and small tsunami waves have been observed but no damage reported.
So far, there is no information on damages, or injuries.
The PTWC says that based on all available data, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaiʻi.

Its epicentre is 167 miles (270km) east of Levuka in Fiji and 275 miles (443km) west of Neiafu in Tonga.
Indonesia sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire and is regularly hit by earthquakes.
The quake's depth at 347.7 miles (560 km) would have dampened the shaking at the surface.
