Fawad Chaudhry, a PTI spokesman, told reporters on Friday that the party believed it had the support of 180 lawmakers when it counted coalition partners and holders of reserved seats.
He elaborated by saying that if the National Assembly meets on August 11, then Khan can take oath of office on August 14.

Weather stalls rescue of Aussie climber
Poor weather further delayed the rescue until Friday, when Harch was lifted off the mountain by helicopter-borne rescuers. Harch parked his auto last Friday to climb the mountain and was expected back on Monday, authorities say.
He was earlier summoned on July 18, but he failed to appear before the panel, citing elections.
Khan, however, has denied any wrongdoing and said the case was politically motivated. Babar Awan further requested that if NAB could give the next date of case hearing on August 7. The senior bureaucrats of the province including the former Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak had already recorded their statements in the case.
The PTI had taken the decisive lead by winning 116 seats against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former President Asif Zardari's Pakistan People's Party (PPP) which won 64 and 43 seats, respectively.
Meanwhile, successful candidates of the July 25 general elections will have to submit returns of their election expenses today - the deadline fixed by the ECP for filing of returns - and a notification will be issued the following day.
