Cowboy Ninja Viking is based on the 2009-2010 Image Comics title of the same name by writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo. It was adapted by Dan Mazeau ("Wrath of the Titans") and Ryan Engle ("The Commuter").
Cowboy Ninja Viking tells the story of Duncan, a man who suffers from multiple personality disorder before he's made into a "triplet" after participating in a top-secret government program that creates deadly super soldiers.

Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok), Craig Mazin, and Deadpool writers Paul Wernick & Everett David Reese wrote previous drafts. Production VP Sara Scott is overseeing the project for Universal.
