LeBron James doesn't seem to have any problem teaming up with Lance Stephenson in the Los Angeles Lakers. Rondo had a solid season with New Orleans but isn't the same defender he was before and Stephenson can be effective on the ball but can also get lost away from it. It's been a busy few days for LeBron.
What Johnson pitched to James was a team stocked with tough-minded playmakers like Stephenson and Rondo who could free up James to finish in the lanes and from the post, rather than having to create the lion's share of the offense himself.
Gilbert went on to say the team wish James "nothing but the best in the years and decades ahead" and also said they looked forward to someday retiring the star's number 23 jersey. The Cavs ranked second-to-last in defensive efficiency in 2017-2018.
A trade for Kawhi Leonard could still be on the way. Golden State has established itself as a dynasty, winning titles in three of the past four seasons, by shooting lights out from the perimeter, so challenging them and limiting their space could certainly be a sound strategy to defeating them (if that's even possible until Kevin Durant and/or Klay Thompson eventually depart, at some point).

The US president, a long-time critic of the historic 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, walked away from the agreement this May. There is little interest among United States lawmakers for a conflict with Iran.
While he's coming off arguably the greatest statistical season of his career in which he played all 82 games for the first time, James will turn 34 before the end of the year and has countless mileage already on his seemingly indestructible body.
But their other signings left many scratching their heads, making memes and plotting reality television storylines for The Real Lakers of Los Angeles.
The decision by the game's best all-around player to leave his native OH for Los Angeles, where he has a home, will make the Lakers an instant contender in the Western Conference where the Golden State Warriors have won three of the last four National Basketball Association titles, defeating Cleveland each time.
"He doesn't have pressure to prove anything", one of the sources told ESPN. "He wants some changes and he can afford to let the process breathe".
